Solid Shutters from £330 m/2
As an alternative to the iconic louvered shutter, we can provide Solid Shutters. These solid panelled shutters can cover your required windows or door, like the louvered shutters but with an overall different look and a more traditional way to dress a window. They cover the entire window and are completely solid.
Solid Shutters have been used in the UK for more than 200 years and provide a more traditional finish to dressing your windows. Some of the benefits are the near blackout effect that they offer, the high levels of noise insulation and perceived security, while looking stunning. This does mean, of course, that they don’t have louvres, so they’re not so flexible when it comes to controlling the light. When open, they’re open, when shut they’re shut!

Solid shutters, made from Pine or Cedar, were popular during the Victorian era, sadly many were unnecessarily removed in the post-war period in order to facilitate the new fashion trends of the Modern era. Replacing the original shutters can be an extremely expensive process. However, the good news is that that Solid Shutters can be a cost-effective replacement, one that is still suited to period properties. Solid Shutters can also be a solution where traffic noise, insulation and security are a consideration.
