conservatory roof blinds

Our pleated conservatory roof blinds fabrics are rated depending on the amount of light filtration, so dim out fabric is great at providing protection against the sun and insulating qualities but won’t restrict light coming into the conservatory; whereas energy saving fabric will restrict more light from coming into the conservatory and is great at protecting your conservatory if it experiences very harsh South facing sun and insulation in the winter.

The coating on the back of pleated fabric protects the fabric against insects and dirt.  Insects and dirt should be swept off the fabric with soft brush to minimise staining from debris.  Oakhurst do provide a specialist cleaning and maintenance service for customers who buy our conservatory roof blinds only up to 10 years.

Manually operated conservatory roof blinds are operated using an operating pole which we supply with each installation.

The advantage to this method is that it is not necessary to have control cords for each individual blind as this can be unsightly.

Alternatively, you may wish to consider remote controlled electric blinds using Somfy motors or integrate your smart home via Tahoma with your app or devices such as Alexa or Google Home.

We provide a fully comprehensive 5 year guarantee with all our products.  Like everything, if you look after your conservatory roof blinds and either maintain and clean yourself or choose our cleaning and maintenance options, you should get many years of enjoyment from your conservatory roof blinds.

There are many different shapes and sizes of conservatory roofs and it depends on whether your conservatory, orangery or glass extension is facing North, South, East or West. For South facing conservatories we recommend pleated or honeycombe conservatory roof blinds as they have a specialist coated fabric. Other conservatory roof blind types include French pinoleum blinds, give a soft, dappled effect. We wouldn’t recommend pinoleum blinds specifically for South facing conservatories though. You could also choose roof roller blinds.

Pleated and honeycombe fabric has specialist coated fabric that protects the conservatory from the harsh rays of the sun, especially in the summer and provides superb insulation qualities during the cold winter months.  Pleated conservatory roof blinds insulation qualities mean they are especially viable for keeping your house insulated and energy efficient.

Pinoleum Blinds are made using a woven reed type of fabric.  It gives a pleasing dappled effect into the conservatory but is not energy efficient.

Our roof roller blinds utilise a specialist Solar R fabric that provides adequate protection from the sun and insulation qualities too.

Conservatory roof blinds appear to be an expensive investment.  You are however buying an installation of multiple blinds in different shapes and sizes.  All our blinds are individually made by skilled craftsmen/women at our workshop in Wiltshire.  Our highly experienced team of skilled surveyors and installers, with many years of conservatory blinds fitting mean you get a perfect fit.

Although investing in conservatory roof blinds may present an initial investment, they do represent good value for money when you start comparing your energy bills and savings

made in your energy costs.  In addition to the many years of enjoyment you will get in using your space all year round.
