Tailor-Made Systems For Your Roof Lantern

Roof Lanterns require a bespoke solution to allow for an unobstructed view to the outside. We offer either a no-support-wire zip roller system or a pleated blind system.

Roof lanterns open up your ceiling to the sky and maximise light flow making rooms look bigger and brighter. However, heat loss is an issue and incorporating a roof lantern to your extension will result in more heat loss compared with just a flat roof. Roof lantern blinds will help solve this problem and also look better, particularly at night.

Oakhurst Blinds are market leaders in roof blinds for lanterns. Our ‘SMARTZip’ no wire roof lantern blind system is specifically designed to be the best available solution for roof lanterns. SMARTZip delivers sleek aesthetics as well as controlling light and heat so you can get greater use of your living space. Alternatively, we can offer you beautiful looking pleated or pinoleum roof blinds in a large variety of fabrics and colours.

All our roof lantern blinds can be remotely controlled or fully integrated into a smart home automation system offering the ultimate in contemporary living.

‘SMARTZip’ Roof Lantern Blinds

This innovative system uses a customised cassette roller blind to prevent sagging with no unsightly wires spoiling the view of the lantern when open.

These blinds can go without wires up to 3m wide x 3.6m long.

Installing a ‘SMARTZip’ roof lantern blind will control heat and light, reduce glare and is ideal for activities such as watching television or for working on a computer. It will also provide essential insulation during those cold snaps in the depths of winter, enabling you to enjoy your room all year round.

Pleated or Honeycombe/Duette Roof Lantern Blinds

Choose pleated or honeycombe fabrics.  A cheaper wire free option for a smaller roof lantern is to have the blind fitted to the base of the lantern.  We can manufacture and fit honeycombe/duette fabric blinds as a wire free option up to 1.8m wide x 2m long.

Alternatively, you may choose to have pleated or honeycombe/duette blinds fitted to each panel of the glass.  This is especially good if you have a traditional roof lantern, in a south facing position where you want to have the flexibility of operating the blinds individually as the sun moves from east to west.

Home Automation

Integrate your blinds into Home Automation system via Tahoma Smart Home from Somfy.  Smart living removes time-consuming tasks and can protect your home when you are out at work or on holiday.

Oakhurst only use Somfy motors in all our blinds.  Somfy motors and systems are world leaders in cutting edge technology, providing reliability and inclusive 5 year guarantee.

Remote Control Blinds

Remote Control Blinds give great flexibility for both roof blinds and window blinds. These can be operated individually or in groups just from one remote control handset.

Oakhurst use only Somfy motors the acknowledged world leaders in motorised blind technology. Their 5 year guarantee combined with our own free 5 year guarantee ensures you can be fully confident that our products will perform.

We stock a range of blind backing fabrics, each with a different purpose.
